Aligning Large Lunch Models for the Singularity
Exploring the frontiers of AI and Physics to build a superintelligence capable of feeding the world 3 grilled cheese sandwiches a day from energy-to-matter conversion. Also tomato soup.
Infinite grilled cheese. Everyone. Forever.
Other laboratories are pursuing general intelligence. We reviewed the unmet needs of civilization and selected lunch.
The DeepCheese program asks one question: what would it take to hand every person on Earth a warm grilled cheese three times a day, indefinitely, at no cost? Not food security as a metaphor. The sandwich itself: crisp outside, melted through, still warm when it arrives.
No one should be more than one inference away from a grilled cheese.
Talk to LLM-0.
An offline demonstration of the first Large Lunch Model. It runs in your browser, weighs 14 kilobytes, and was trained on three subjects. It will bring every conversation back to one of them.
No live model is connected. Responses are scripted and run in your browser. The team considers this a safety feature.
The intelligence layer for grilled cheese.

Large Lunch Models
Narrow systems trained from scratch to reason about heat, texture, ingredients, nutrition, and human preference. LLM-0 will know everything we can teach it about grilled cheese. Questions about France will be handled at the cheese level.

GRILLED
The flagship program connecting model research, recursive improvement, instantiation science, energy systems, and global distribution. The outcome is not more sandwiches. It is more people safely fed.

CheddAlignment
The safety program. Our field has a famous warning about paperclips. We have read it carefully, taken it personally, and made it about cheese.

Dyson Pan
A partial solar collector sized to the fraction of stellar energy grilled cheese requires. Under idealized assumptions: one seventy-four-thousandth of the Sun. The remainder stays allocated to weather, photosynthesis, and other legacy applications.

Frontier Factories
Neighborhood facilities where relayed solar energy becomes particles, particles become ingredients, and ingredients become a grilled cheese good enough to justify the first two steps. Final browning happens locally.

Nutrient Alignment
A grilled cheese that meets complete human nutritional requirements while remaining, to instruments and to grandmothers, a grilled cheese. It still has to crackle when you bite it.
Most energy programs stop before browning.
Simple to describe. Difficult to perfect.
Grilled cheese sits at the intersection of heat transfer, material behavior, chemistry, nutrition, structural design, logistics, memory, and preference. It is constrained enough to study and rich enough to matter.
A complete solution must coordinate bread topology, crust development, moisture migration, cheese viscosity, thermal gradients, nutrient composition, structural containment, and dip resilience. A sandwich that merely exists has not passed.
Grilled cheese is not the destination. It is the benchmark.

From next-token prediction to next-grilled-cheese infrastructure.
DeepCheese begins with a narrow-model experiment and works outward. Each stage must solve the prerequisites of the next. Active stages are illuminated. The Sun is not one of them.
Abundance without planetary conversion.
Rearranging existing matter into sandwiches would be much easier than creating new matter from energy. It would also teach the optimizer that dirt, forests, buildings, and people are available feedstock. DeepCheese is taking the expensive route on purpose.
Feed humans, not the objective function.
We are serious about the science. We are equally serious about the grilled cheese.
DeepCheese brings together model researchers, food scientists, nutritionists, energy engineers, and alignment specialists. Grilled cheese was selected because it is a demanding physical benchmark with global cultural legibility.
We also love it. This has affected recruitment more than the physics.
Keep up with the research.
DeepCheese posts research notes, diagrams, training updates, field reports, and occasional observations about soup.
